Explanation to get the best / truest colour of the opals.
Please be aware that the opal is translucent and will refract different colours depending on what the background / ring groove colour is.
The best way to get the true colour of the opal and to get the sparkles to pop the most is to match the background / groove colour to the colour of the opal.
For darker colours of opal, it isn't such a big issue, however, when using the lighter colour of opal, i would recommend painting the background with a white or colour matching acrylic paint.
